In collaboration with Carrie’s Heart and with support from Colegio Puerto Aventuras.

Camp Corazones is a summer day camp inspired by the work of Carrie Conn and her organization, Carrie’s Heart, with children with disabilities throughout the Yucatan peninsula, and is sponsored by Carrie’s Heart and Anat Kah. The camp brings together children with and without disabilities, volunteers from the local community and from the United States, and special educators, every weekday morning for two weeks in July at Colegio Puerto Aventuras. We organize games and activities that are suitable for all campers, in order to fulfill the camp’s mission of promoting compassion and acceptance in children. For more information, please email Christina or Carrie, and if you would like to support the camp for 2010, visit Carrie’s Heart’s donation page.

You can see pictures from the 2009 camp here.

June 2010 Update:
Camp Corazones 2010 is just around the corner!  We will be welcoming campers and counselors to Colegio Puerto Aventuras for the second summer on July 19-23 and 26-30 from 8 am-12 pm every day.  If you are in town during those dates, feel free to stop by and say hello!

Donations are still needed to purchase materials, food and other supplies that make Camp Corazones great.  For just $20 USD, you can sponsor one child for one week of camp. . . the same amount as many of us spend in one week at Starbucks! So consider supporting Camp Corazones through the Carrie's Heart website today!
